We are seeking a Treasurer

The Hospice is offering a great opportunity as a volunteer for a qualified accountant to take on the role of Treasurer of the Board. The position is very rewarding as this role makes a contribution to the sound financial governance of Albany Community Hospice.

The Hospice has an effective staff structure in place which undertakes the day-to-day running of the organisation and this allows the Treasurer to undertake a governance role which includes:

  • reviewing monthly accounts;
  • budget variance analysis;
  • overview of the annual budget;
  • sign off of the audit for each financial year;
  • risk management reviews;
  • other matters of financial consideration and recommendations to the Board.

The financial nature requires the Treasurer to be an experienced professional, preferably with experience in the not-for-profit sector. Membership of CPA or a CA is highly desirable and a current police clearance check required.

The role includes attending two meetings per month, the Finance and Risk Management Committee meeting and the Board meeting, which are held consecutively on the third Monday of each month from 4pm, and other adhoc meetings as required.
